In almost every marriage, there tends to be that one party (in our case, it's me) who doesn't quite grasp the concept of symmetry and order. If you happen to be married to such a spouse, please take note of Paul's words in his thesis on marriage in 1 Corinthians 13: "Love is patient." And we can't argue with God's word, can we?
Now, here's the thing: because God loves you so much, He placed people like your spouse and me in your life to help you grow in this virtue. Think of us as vessels of patience, if you will. We understand that it can be exasperating for you, and you often wonder why we can't just do things "the right way." Believe me, we're sorry. All the guilty spouses out there, raise your hands and join me in offering our apologies.
I promise you, we don't intentionally seek to cause emotional pandemonium in your system. We genuinely try, but sometimes our minds wander off to thoughts about cake, pressing financial matters like the dollar rate or the finance bill, or even reminiscing about what happened last night in bed. Just as we're beginning to refocus, oops! The knife slips out of bounds, and the cutting is done, leaving us to quickly move on.
But hey, don't you just love us? We bring a certain level of unpredictability and excitement to your life, don't we? Embrace the madness and quirks that come with our imperfect selves, for it's all part of the journey we're on together. And let's not forget, amidst the chaos, there are also moments of laughter, joy, and genuine love that make it all worthwhile.
So, to all the patient partners out there, we salute you. Thank you for sticking by us, for accepting our flaws, and for finding humor in the midst of our occasional mishaps. Together, let's navigate this adventure called marriage, embracing the imperfections and celebrating the uniqueness that each of us brings.
And to my fellow "not-so-symmetrical" spouses, let's continue to strive for improvement, to be more present and attentive, and to keep working on becoming the best versions of ourselves for the sake of our beloved partners. After all, love is a journey of growth and learning, and we're all in it together.
So, here's to love, patience, and the beautiful chaos that comes with it. Cheers!
